Keeping up-to-date with the latest beauty trends is essential when it comes to putting together the beauty pages in the UK’s best-selling monthly bridal magazine. And I've been busy testing to find you the best products for your bridal beauty bag

Pink Opal Collection, Sarah Hill £40
Being very used to my trusty liquid highlighter, I was a little daunted by using loose-powders at first, however once I got going they became totally addictive. I felt like a kid at Christmas dusting on layers of this magical, illuminating wonder – which, by the way, also works really well as an eye shadow or even on your Cupid’s bow for a statement lip! But, as you can see from the picture it has a very high-shine finish so unless you’re all looking for a seriously glamorous big day look, perhaps it’s one for your hen party.

Illuminating highlighter and gorgeous lipshine

Lipshine in sweetie darling, Rosie by Autograph £14
I didn’t think a product like this even existed – it’s the perfect mix of a lipstick and a gloss. It applies like a buttery lipstick with a rich colour, but then you’re left with a beautiful sheen. I wore this lipstick all day long and although it did come off a little while I was eating and drinking, I was pretty impressed that my lips still felt nourished and moisturised at the end of the day. This lipstick-gloss hybrid provides the perfect middle ground for your wedding day and it’s half the price of some designer lippies (win!).

Multi-Active Eye, Clarins £35
Recently I had a Visia scan on my skin to detect my skin type, amount of sun damage and where fine lines are forming on my face. One of the places in which fine lines were shown was under my eyes, so I've decided it’s time to step up my eye care routine. Cue the Clarins Multi-Active Eye (which is due to launch in February).

There’s a lot of science behind it, so bear with me while I explain. Your skin naturally produces fibroplast to keep it supple and bouncy, but a lack of sleep and general ageing can cause this to be broken down. This gel-cream formula is loaded with teasel extract to penetrate the skin and work on rebuilding and repairing the fibroplast. The result is plumped-up, refreshed-looking under eyes, and let me tell you, it really works! I also have to mention the cooling metal tip – it feels like heaven the morning after a late night. So as well as preparing your skin to look flawless before your wedding, it can give you a little lift after the big day itself!
