Want to look at your absolute best on your wedding day? (errr…yes please!) Our handy six-month bridal beauty plan will help you work through all those skin and haircare worries and ensure you feel like the very best version of you on your wedding day.

Six months to go

  • If you haven’t done so already, book in your hair and make-up artists for the big day (if you’re having them) and make sure you book trials in too.
  • Want to try a new hairstyle for the big day? Now’s the time to experiment, so you have time to change it back if you want to. Talk to your hairdresser about different options and get their opinion.
  • It’s time to get serious about your skin! Find a cleanser, toner and moisturiser that you really like and get into a good daily skin care routine, with a weekly exfoliator too.
  • Take some time away from wed-stress. Try meditation or yoga to keep calm and improve your sleep habits.

Three months to go

  • Go to your hair and make-up trials and try out some different looks. Bring along any accessories (veils, earrings etc.) that will be part of your look. Don’t be afraid to say if you don’t like something and always take photographs of the finished looks so you have a reference for the big day.
  • If you’re doing your own make-up, visit some beauty counters and ask the artists there to help you create your look. Watch some wedding make-up tutorial videos on YouTube and try out products to find out which ones you like and which ones will actually last all day!
  • Go for a trim to make sure your hair is in tip top condition before the big day. Make sure you tell your hairdresser if you don’t want to lose too much length.
  • Start applying regular hair masks (about once every two weeks) to give your hair extra body and shine.

One month to go

  • If you don’t already, start regularly exfoliating your body to get rid of dry patches on your feet, ankles, elbows and knees.
  • Want to get a golden big day glow? Trial a spray tan or some at-home products to ensure you get the perfect shade.
  • Give your skin an MOT with a salon or at-home facial. Don’t risk this any closer to the big day as it can cause break outs.
  • If you’re thinking about getting your eyebrows professionally shaped, get some recommendations and give it a try.
  • Touch up your hair colour if required.

Two weeks to go

  • Drink plenty of water, to keep skin plump and clear.
  • Keep up your skincare routines and try to get plenty of rest.
  • If you’re feeling the wedding pressure, treat yourself to a massage – go on you deserve it!

One week to go

  • Time to get busy! If you’re opting for a spray tan, go for it now and get those eyebrows perfectly shaped.
  • Get a bikini wax ready for your honeymoon and shave/wax your legs too.
  • If you’re having eyelash extensions, have them applied a day or two before your wedding.
  • Go for a manicure and pedicure (best to do this as close to the big day as possible to minimise chipping).

The big day!
