How to cut your wedding budget

On a tight wedding budget? These clever tricks will cut costs and have fabulous yet affordable wedding day!

Cut your guest list
It might feel brutal but it has to be done. The rules are simple – the more people you have to feed and water at your wedding the higher the costs will be. Take a long hard look at that guest list and see who could be cut. Do you really need to invite that cousin you haven’t seen for 10 years or your mother-in-law's nosy neighbour?

Free downloads
You can save lots of money by downloading free printables for stationery, photo booths and much more. Check out our free printables and for some beautiful downloads.

Go local
For flowers and food, local options are always the greenest and almost always the cheapest option. If you’re feeling really thrifty why not pop down to a flower wholesaler yourself the day before and put together your own floral arrangements.

iPod disco
Bands and even DJs do cost a fair whack of money so why not think about an iPod disco instead? You can ensure all your favourite tunes are played and even ask guests to RSVP with their top beats to be added to the playlist!

Get baking
Be inspired by The Great British Bake Off and bake your own wedding cake (or ask your mum to do it!). You don’t even need to do fancy icing – naked wedding cakes are so hot right now.

Think accessories
Do you really need to buy a whole new jewellery set and shoes for your wedding day? Think about the accessories you currently own and ask yourself if any of them would work with your big day outfit. It can feel even more special to wear that pair of earrings that your husband-to-be bought early on in the relationship, rather than something brand new.
