MAKING YOUR OWN WEDDING CAKE TIPS AND TRICKS

Make it!
1. Bake four small cakes with a maximum diameter of 20cm. Let the cakes cool well, then make your buttercream.

2. Prepare thick straws that are at least as long as the filled cake is high. In addition, you need a small plastic bowl, which is smaller than the cake bases.

3. Attach your first cake with a blob of the cream to a cake plate. Now spread it with jam.

4. Spread the first cake base about 1cm thick with buttercream.

5. Layer the next cake. Spread with jam, then cream. Add the third cake bottom and spread with jam, then cream. The fourth cake floor is not coated with jam. Allow to cool thoroughly.

6. Spread buttercream over the top and sides of the layered tiers of cake. Allow to cool while you make the flower arrangement.

7. Cut the flower foam to the size of your bowl. It should not be too high and the sides should be slightly bevelled inwards.

8. Arrange the flowers, starting with the largest flowers then fill with eucalyptus and smaller blooms.

9. Glaze the cake. Melt the white chocolate over a bain marie and add a little red food colouring. Sweep the chocolate slightly over the edge so that it runs down and forms beautiful drops down the four layers.

10. Put the straws into the cake. Make a circle that is slightly smaller than the flower bowl.

11. Once the chocolate has solidified, the flower arrangement can be placed on the top of the cake.
