Wedding catering trends for 2015

Looking for fun alternatives to the traditional seated wedding breakfast? You’ll love our suggestions from stylish caterers Kalm Kitchen.

The Chef Station
Entertain your guests with live food service, with chefs preparing tasty dishes at interactive food stalls. This can be more complicated at a large wedding but works perfectly with smaller numbers. Consider offering bowl food so that guests can mingle, food in hand.

The Food Stall
Allow your guests to choose from a selection of fun dining stalls such as a bagel bar, deli stall, waffle station or pie and mash stall. It’s informal and fun – perfect for summer days and for keeping all your guests happy!

The Interactive Table
Consider serving a delicious, hearty pie or piece of meat to each table. Allocate a ‘pie master’ or carver from the table to serve while waiting staff assist with places and accompaniments. It’s a fun way to involve your guests, and a great talking point!

The Junior Treats
Always consider children on your wedding day, creating a special menu to suit their tastes. This may sound extravagant but can save money as you offer a more simple selection of treats. Serve creatively with bright colours, and use skewers and cones to ensure things are easy to eat. Never underestimate the fun of small drink bottles with straws!

The Patisserie Bar
Follow a more formal main course by inviting guests to leave the table and help themselves to pudding from a patisserie bar. This works particularly well in the summer in a beautiful venue where your guests can mingle outside. Offer a range of sweet treats, and consider a circular table with patisserie on one side and a delicious selection of cheeses and breads on the other.
