A festival wedding wouldn't be complete without these cute ideas.

1. If you're having a marquee, place hay bales around the outside where your guests can sit.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN PLANNING AN OUTDOOR WEDDING

2. Stick with the informal festival wedding vibe, and serve barbecue food rather than a traditional three-course meal. You could even hire an ice-cream van or candy floss cart for guests to enjoy!

3. Create a lanyard-style festival wedding programme or wristbands so guests know what to expect – they can wear them around their necks!

4. Have some fun games and activities on hand, such as giant boules, karaoke, and a photo booth. You could even blow the budget and get dodgems or a vintage-look carousel!

5. Look for a boho-style wedding dress that fits with the festival wedding vibe. Plus, you probably won't want a big, full-skirted style if you're going to be spending the day outside.

6. Buy some fun wellies to wear under your dress – they'll look great in photographs too! It's worth having some cheap flip-flops on hand for guests too, in case their heels sink into the grass.

7. If you can, find a venue where your outdoorsy guests can camp. It keeps costs down for people, plus will add to the festival wedding vibe!

HOW TO SURVIVE A SUMMER WEDDING

8. Set up a bonfire for the evening – and make sure you've got plenty of marshmallows for guests to toast over it!

10. Get creative with lighting. Opt for bold festoon lighting or pretty fairylights in trees.

12. Arrange a big breakfast barbecue for the next morning! Keep it simple with bacon and egg rolls and mugs of tea – it doesn't have to cost a lot but is a great way to extend the party!
