All those wedding worries giving you sleep troubles? Here are the best ways to ensure you keep up that all-important bridal beauty sleep in the run up to the big day.

Practice meditation
Lying awake worrying about ribbon swatches? Keep your mind off the various shades of blush by downloading an app and popping on a guided meditation to help your drift off. We love ‘Headspace’ (a fave of Emma Watson's dontcha know) and ‘Calm’  – both well worth the investment.

HOW TO SLEEP THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR WEDDING

Invest in a pillow spray
Give your pillow a little lift with a dreamy pillow spray. This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray is a blend of lavender and camomile designed to help you fall asleep quicker and enjoy a deeper sleep.

Get into the yoga flow
Feeling a crick in your neck from hunching over your wedding budget spreadsheet? Have a little bedtime yoga session to stretch out those aching muscles and practice those deep ujjayi breaths.

Cut down on alcohol
Although a nightcap might feel like it helps you get off, your quality of sleep won’t be as good and you’re more likely to wake during the night – so stay off the sauce!

HOW TO AVOID GETTING ILL ON YOUR WEDDING DAY

Exercise
Although your mind might feel tired from all that big day planning, your body might not be. Make sure you’re good and knackered by going for a run or attending a HIIT class earlier in the day.

Avoid big meals
It takes your body a while to digest your food so avoid eating big rich meals a few hours before bed. Try a larger lunch instead with a lighter snack in the evening.

Say 'no' to caffeine
Suffering from insomnia? Late night tea or coffee is not your friend. Swap in a nice herbal tea or a creamy Horlicks instead.

WHAT TO DO THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR WEDDING

Keep a notebook by your bed
Do you find that as soon as your head hits the pillow, you immediately think of 10 more things you need to do? Keep a notebook by your bed and write down any tasks you need to do tomorrow and then put them out of your head.

Give yourself a tech break
An hour before you plan to go to bed, step away from the emails, shut down Facebook and stay away from all bright screens. Turn the light down lower and try reading or listening to a meditation.
