Overplayed, inappropriate and just plain awful. These are the most annoying songs to play at a wedding. Hit skip now!

1. Celebration – Kool & the Gang
Is there anything less cool than spelling cool with a ‘k’? We don’t think so…

2. Hot in Herre  – Nelly
The ‘in da club’ lyrics can suddenly feel a bit racy – especially when you catch your nan gently bopping along with a horrified look on her face.

3. I’ve Had The Time Of My Life – Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes
Unless you’ve practised ‘the Dirty Dancing lift’ and are prepared to put on a bit of a show, this song is best avoided. Why? Because there’s a good chance you’ll end up taking someone to A&E after they’ve crashed into the floor face-first.

4. The Chicken Dance
You and your guests have all made a serious effort to look fantastic on the big day. All this hard work will be undone as soon as you do the chicken dance.

5. YMCA – The Village People
Literally no one likes this song. No one. Plus, the accompanying actions have that forced-fun feel that kills a party dead.

6. Marcarena – Los Del Rio
This song was bad enough at the school disco, don’t bring it out again now.

7. The Loco-Motion – Little Eva
Another cheesy song, another set of terrible dance moves. Definitely one to skip.

8. Love Shack – The B-52s
Overplayed to the point of severely annoying. Nothing spells ‘generic wedding dance playlist’ like this song.

9. Shout – The Isley Brothers
There is nothing more annoying than a lot of drunk wedding guests yelling “Shout! A little bit louder now!"

10. My Heart Will Go On – Celine Dion
Sorry Celine, but this tune is about a cheesy as they come and the fact that it just makes us think of Leo drowning adds insult to injury.

11. Come on Eileen – Dexy’s Midnight Runners
This isn’t such a bad song, but it is synonymous with beer swigging, falling over and people stamping way too loudly.

12. Cha-Cha Slide – Mr C The Slide Man
A relatively new addition to the novelty-song-with-terrible-dance-moves category, but sadly this doesn’t make it any less annoying.

13. Crazy Frog – Axel F
Pure evil.
