Looking for some romatic proposal ideas? These cute ideas are almost guaranteed a yes!
1) Stocking filler
If you're planning a Christmas proposal, why not get your girlfriend a stocking full of silly, small presents, and tuck a ring box right in the toe so it's the last thing she finds? It's a great way to get an element of surprise!
2) Spell it out
One of the most romantic proposals we've heard of recently was a groom who took his girlfriend on a picnic and pulled out a box of cakes. Each one had a different letter iced on top, and she had to work out the order they were meant to go in until she'd spelt out "Will you marry me?"! Cute, inexpensive, and you get to eat the cakes afterwards!
3) On the hunt
Making a treasure hunt for your girlfriend is a great way to up the excitement of your proposal. Leave clues around the house until she manages to find her ring, and just make sure you're poised to get down on one knee and whip out the champagne!

4) Minibreak romance
It's fairly hard to beat a classic weekend away proposal. Sweep your bride-to-be off her feet by booking a night in a beautiful hotel, taking her to dinner, and surprising her with champagne in the room as you propose! If you've never done anything similarly romantic before, don't be surprised if you get rumbled though.
5) Say it with flowers
If you want a romantic proposal without going away, get some friends or family in on the secret and ask them to fill a room in your house with flowers and candles and put the champers on ice while you and your girlfriend are out for dinner. Just make sure they've cleared out before you get back, then pop the question in style!
6) Snap happy
On a weekend in the Lake District, one prospective fiancé we know of stopped his girlfriend to set up a photo taken with the camera on timer. As the seconds ticked down, he dashed over to her, got down on one knee, and the proposal – and her delighted reaction – was captured on camera! It worked – they're now married with a beautiful baby!
7) Element of surprise
If you want all your nearest and dearest to share in the excitement of your proposal, why not pop the question at a party or over Christmas in front of everyone. Think about whether your girlfriend will like a public proposal though, and you need to be VERY confident she'll say yes. Whatever you do, don't hijack someone else's wedding to propose though - it's the ultimate in bad form!
8) Flash mob
If you've got seriously strong organisational skills and some friends who are game for anything, why not set up a flash mob proposal in the style of Justin Timberlake in Friends with Benefits? This one on a train is a must-watch for inspiration!
