We all know that you are what you eat, and this goes for your hair too. What you put into your body determines the condition of your hair, so if you’re suffering from lacklustre locks here are six foods you need to eat to give your hair a nutrient boost…

Protein
Your hair is made of protein, so it makes sense that you need plenty of it in your diet to keep your hair healthy. On a low-protein diet you may suffer from brittle weak strands and maybe even hair loss. Yikes!
Opt for: turkey chicken, eggs and nuts

Iron
Without enough iron in your diet your follicles will start to suffer. Keep them in tip top condition and encourage growth with lots of iron-rich foods.
Opt for: lean red meat, chicken, fish, lentils, spinach, soy beans and all leafy greens

HOW TO MAKE YOUR HAIR GROW FASTER FOR LONG WEDDING HAIR

Vitamin C
A brilliant antioxidant, Vitamin C helps to keep all of your body in top nick. It also aids iron absorption so try to combine it with the above.
Opt for: blueberries, kiwis, oranges, strawberries and broccoli

Omega-3
Omega-3 oils are found in the cells long your head and are needed to prevent a dry and itchy scalp. Omega-3 fatty acids aren’t produced by our bodies at all so it’s vital we get these valuable oils from our diet.
Opt for: Oily fish such as mackerel, salmon and trout, avocado and pumpkin seeds

10 MUST-KNOW TIPS FOR SHINY HAIR

Vitamin A
Vitamin A is needed to make sebum which is our body’s natural hair conditioner. Not enough Vitamin A is a recipe for a dry, flaky scalp – not exactly what you want for your wedding day.
Opt for: pumpkins, sweet potatoes and carrots

Zinc and selenium
These essential minerals are again vitally important for scalp health. Lack of zinc can lead to hair loss so make sure you incorporate it into your diet.
Opt for: Oysters, eggs, nuts and beef

7 TIPS FOR LONG-LASTING WEDDING HAIR

Vitamin E
Protect your hair from sun damage by covering it with a hat in bright weather and aiding repair by chowing down on lots of Vitamin A.
Opt for: lots of nuts
