Follow these five easy ways to save money on your wedding invitations and save the dates.

1. Send save the dates by email – they still look special if you spend a few pounds on a personalised printable. You can then send handwritten letters to any older guests.

2. Orders of service aren’t essential if you’re on a budget – the only thing guests really need is a printout of words for hymns or songs.

3. Set up a wedding website. If all the details are online and people can RSVP by email, you don’t have the cost of an information sheet or RSVP cards.

4. Save on postage by doing your invites early and give them to people when you see them. Ask parents to do the same for family friends or relatives, too.

5. Don’t choose large or bulky invites that will qualify as a large letter when posting, and leave enough time to send your invites second class.
