Do not panic, it’s natural for the mother of the bride’s stress levels to rise and for the emotions to get (very) high but we won’t let you forget a thing with this handy checklist…

Waterproof mascara
Let’s get this one out of the way now; it just isn’t worth the panda eyes in the photos. Pick up some tissues while you’re there too.

A big hat
This is a big deal – a lot of focus will be on that hat. Not only will it protect you from all weather conditions (rain or shine) it is also a fantastic accessory to make your outfit a memorable one. Don’t fancy a hat? Why not try a fascinator instead.

GROOM WEDDING DAY CHECKLIST

Get your nails done
Why not go all out and coordinate with your outfit? Not only will you get heaps of compliments but you will also feel great!

Comfortable shoes
Although looking fab is important, you also want to feel comfortable. On the day you won’t just be the mother of the bride, you will also be the wedding planner, runner and dress holder. Put your feet first.

HOW TO PLAN A WEDDING

Local taxi number
You will undoubtedly be inundated with questions (no one wants to bother the bride and groom with these nitty gritty details) so make sure you have a local taxi number and any other extra information the guests may need to hand.

A good night’s sleep
Although this may seem impossible, you will feel better on the day if you’ve had a few hours shut-eye. You’ll be refreshed and it will keep you dancing in to the early hours.

MOTHER OF THE BRIDE BEAUTY TIPS

A present for the bride
Your daughter will already be so grateful for all your support so far but how about one more thing? A delicate bracelet for her to wear on the day or even a family heirloom for her something borrowed.

Be a shoulder to cry on
You know what we mean, do what you do all year round, be a mum. You are great at it and she will appreciate a pep talk if things get a bit hectic.

HOW TO CHOOSE A FLATTERING MOTHER OF THE BRIDE HAT

A good breakfast
Now, we aren’t suggesting you cook up a full English breakfast but have some treats in the fridge for you, the bride and the bridesmaids whilst you are all getting ready. Some fresh fruit, croissants and of course some fizz. This will ensure you are the hostess with the mostest.

Be a compliment queen
You can never give a bride too many compliments. Everyone knows it but she may have moments of doubt so don’t forget to tell her how special she is.
