Looking for a brilliant wedding photographer but not sure where to start? Take a look at our dos and don'ts
DO ask recently-married friends and colleagues for recommendations if you love their wedding photographs
DON'T just head to Google – you'll probably get more luck finding good photographers by looking at more wedding-specific sites rather than just finding the ones with the best search rankings
EMOTIONAL WEDDING PHOTOS
DO your research. Look at the real weddings sections in wedding magazines and websites and on wedding blogs to get an idea of the styles you like. You'll also find details of who shot the wedding too.
DON'T forget to ask your venue for recommendations – they'll be able to recommend photographers who regularly shoot weddings there.
DO meet photographers before booking them. It's really important to check that you get on with them and that they understand your style of wedding day.
MUST-HAVE WEDDING PHOTOS
DON'T ignore your instinct. If you don't get on with someone when you meet them or aren't keen on the look of their website then they may not be right for you.
DO chat to your other suppliers. Your caterers. florist and cake maker are all likely to have worked with good photographers.
DON'T leave it too late. Great photographers can get booked up more than a year in advance, so sort your booking early to avoid disappointment.
