Your guide to wedding photo booths

Ooh, we do love a photo booth! Find out which one is right for you with these fun ideas for every budget.

Make your own photo booth!
The booth: Create a unique look using a customised backdrop and your own digital camera or Polaroid.
Why we love it: The budget option is often the most creative, meaning you get to personalise your booth to look however you want. Buy a bespoke backdrop from Not on the High Street or Eagle Eyed Bride, or hang up tassels, pom poms or pretty fabric to create a background.
The cost: If you already have a camera, it needn’t cost a thing – result!

Top tip: Leave some instructions and make sure somebody’s on hand to check occasionally that the camera is in focus!

Ask a professional photographer to create your photo booth
The booth: Set up an area at your venue where your photographer can snap you and your wedding party having fun dressing up.
Why we love it: Your photographer takes care of it all and you’re guaranteed some great shots with studio lighting and no red eye! Plus, you can customise your backdrop.
Hire it!: The Silly Studio, £125 per hour (min two hours), includes prints on the night and a DVD of your photos after the event.

Top tip: Run the booth between the speeches and first dance. Chalk up an ‘order of the day’ so guests know when to pose

10 MUST-HAVE WEDDING PHOTOS

Go for an old-school photo booth
The booth: Go retro with an old-school photo booth, complete with cinema seats, luxurious lighting and vintage-style snaps.
Why we love it: Climb in, draw the curtain and start acting silly. It’s just like getting your passport pics done, except you can wear a moustache. What’s not to love?
Hire it!: from £895 for four hours at thevintagephotoboothcompany.co.uk including props, attendant, personalised poster and unlimited prints.

Pick a quirky photo booth
The booth: An iconic car photo booth is about as cool as they come. Designs include a classic London black cab, a flower power Beetle or a red, white and blue Mini.
Why we love it: Quirky, unique and a sure-fire way to impress your guests, hiring a photo booth disguised as a car will keep everyone entertained for hours. Pile in the back and get snapped by the pro SLR cameras.
Hire it!: Car hire starts at £650 for three hours at megabooth.com

Top tip: Ask your photo booth supplier about customising the interior of your car so that it fits your wedding theme.
