Thinking about a winter wedding? Here are 10 reasons why a cold season big day is the best kind of big day...

1. Wearing a super-fluffy fur stole = you will basically look like a glamorous movie star. Fact.

2. Mince pie canapés. Three little words, so much pleasure. Add mulled wine and that’s winter wedding heaven right there…

3. Half price venue hire, you say? More money for my dress, you say? *Evil chuckle*

4. You won’t spend the six weeks before your big day pressing refresh on the BBC weather app. It’s gonna be cold, deal with it.

5. You can use your wedding as an excuse not to have to buy Christmas presents. They should be grateful they have those handmade favours instead!

6. It’s OK to rock that ‘high-gloss’ make-up trend, safe in the knowledge it won’t melt off your face the moment the sun comes out.

7. It might snow. OK, it probably won’t, but hey... IT MIGHT SNOW!

8. Forget three hours of shots of you strolling along the beach or sailing down a river with a parasol… A few hauntingly beautiful winter shots are in order, then we’re heading straight to the bar!

9. Candlelight. How we love thee. It’s basically the Victorians’ version of the Perfect365 app (you know, the one that makes you look like a flawless celeb). Bingo!

10. Other than Netflix and online shopping, there’s basically nothing else to do in winter. So you’re doing everyone a public service. You’re welcome.
