How modern is your wedding day?

The Millenial generation are reinventing the way we do weddings. Does your big day fit the bill?

1. The very thought of an ‘unplugged’ wedding brings you out in a cold sweat. You’ve got the cute hashtag sorted – with a chalkboard sign telling guests to get posting and tweeting using it, obvs – and your maid of honour has strict instructions to Facebook Live the first dance to your friends who won’t be there on the day.

2. You’ve got ‘crafter’s cramp’ from all that wedding DIY. Invites, place cards, favours, decorations – they’ve all been
lovingly made by hand so you can put your own stamp on the day. Now where is that twine…?

3. There’s been no bridesmaid dress shopping stress as you’ve let them all choose their own. You’re not into the matchy/matchy thing, plus this way everyone loves their dress as much as you love yours.

4. The best man is a dog. Your dog. One sure sign you’re having a Millennial wedding is having your pets included in the bridal party. Cat bridesmaids, horse ushers – hey, we’re all for it. Pets in little wedding outfits rock our world.

5. Forget the traditional sit-down three-course meal – you’re shaking things up when it comes to the food. Whether it’s a mobile pizza oven, laid-back BBQ or cool sushi menu, the wedding breakfast is getting a serious overhaul.

6. When it comes to Millennial weddings, it’s go big or go bigger, and your day is no exception. From the surprise flash mob dance after your ceremony, to the adult-size bouncy castle – your guests are in for a right treat!

7. You and your Mr are staying true to your style and skipping the usual morning suits and corseted bridal gown for something more ‘you’. A lace mini or bridal separates for you (complete with personalised leather jacket of course) and braces and a pair of his favourite battered Converse for him.

8. You’re planning an after party for the most hardcore of guests – there will be no carriages at midnight for this wedding! When your day is going to be this much fun, of course you don’t want it to end. Bring on the nightcap…
