Want to make sure your guests have an amazing time at your wedding? Here are all the things brides and grooms need to do to make sure they have the Best. Party. Ever…

1. A venue we can let our hair down in
Stuffy spaces make us feel on edge – we are so much more fun when we’re relaxed! Beach weddings, glampsites and hired houses get our vote (plus we don’t have to worry about getting home at the end of the night – bonus!

2. Thoughtful touches
Pleasing us doesn’t have to cost a lot! Heartfelt touches such as old photos of us together, bathroom baskets filled with emergency make-up or handwritten notes on the tables give us a warm glow inside… ahhhh

  • Hangover kits
  • Flip flops for sore feet
  • A personalised place name

Mini emergency kit, BHLDN

3. Evening food with a twist
After a few hours drinking and dancing, we’re going to be hungry! We don’t mind paying, so surprise us with a food van, or organise a hearty bacon sarnie at the venue, and we’ll be the happiest guests around!

4. Favours we can actually use (or eat!)
We don’t want you to waste money on expensive gifts that will get left behind on the tables, but if you really want to treat us, make it something with purpose and meaning, like wildflower seeds we can grow at home to remind us of your day.

Why not try?

  • A playlist of your wedding day music
  • Potted plants
  • Lip balms and candles

Personalised monogram lip balms, Sweet Cecilys at Not on the High Street

5. Unique entertainment
While we love all sorts of wedding fun, if it’s something we haven’t seen before, we’re more likely to get involved (and talk about it for weeks to come!). We love entertainment that doesn’t make us feel singled out or awkward – think video booths, stilt walkers or even mixology masters at the bar!

6. Music we can dance to
Argh, the awkward wedding disco – every guest’s nightmare. Although we love floor fillers, anything too cheesy will make us head back to the bar with our head in our hands.

Why not try?

  • Seven-piece swing bands
  • Talented local cover bands
  • A House DJ

7. Fun for the kids
If our children are happy, we are too! Whether it’s bubbles to try and pop, an activity set on the table or Jenga on the lawn, it means we can have more fun with you (the bride and groom!). A bouncy castle, dressing up box or on-site crèche = amazing.

8. Little surprises
A cushion-filled chill-out area, a funny quiz during the speeches, a sparkler send off – they all leave us beaming about the awesome wedding we’ve just been to! Just keep them a secret beforehand, so that it’s an extra treat on the day.

Why not try?

  • Quizzes and table games
  • Party piñatas
  • Tattoo stations
