Once that wedding dress is on, all these wedding stresses will suddenly seem like distant memories…

1. Looking perfect in every photo
Although you could attempt it, you’ll soon realise that spending 12 hours pouting with a dropped hip and your shoulders pulled back is exhausting and, well, just looks a bit weird.

2. The food
Right now, catering might seem pretty high on the ‘need to get it right’ agenda, but once your wedding day arrives you’ll a) probably be way too excited to eat and b) be too busy smiling to care whether it’s properly seasoned/a perfect match with the wine/appropriate for a June wedding. As long as your guests enjoy it and eat it all up, you’re all good.

3. The place settings
They might not have been laid out exactly like the pictures and diagrams you very kindly printed out for the venue staff, but no one is going to know that. Including you – because you’ll be too busy drinking champers with your new husband and yelling “I’m married!”

4. Black clouds
Yes, they’re looming over the church (someone clearly didn’t get the memo RE ‘perfect sunshine’), but knowing the unpredictable British weather, they’ll probably clear later. And if they don’t, rock those wedding wellies for extra photo points.

7 THINGS THAT WILL PROBABLY GO WRONG AT YOUR WEDDING

5. Sore feet
New heels – you know they’re gonna hurt. But before you can say ‘pass me the plasters’, you’re kicking those bad boys off and hitting the dance floor in your flip flops.

6. That typo
As understandably mortified as you were when you discovered ‘thank you’ had been hyphenated on the favour boxes, this will definitely not affect guests’ enjoyment of the contents. We promise.

7. The no shows
So your old uni friend RSVP’d ‘count me in!’ and then didn’t turn up. Yes, it’s very rude and a waste of your time and money but you won’t even notice until the next day and by then, you won’t care anyway! #yourloss

8. Seating struggles
The moment you realise all those hours agonising over whether Single Kate should sit with your workmates or next to Single Dave were a waste of time. No one cares, they’re too busy having fun.

9. Things going wrong
So you forgot to put your garter on, the ushers didn’t collect the second box of Order of Services and your bridesmaids walked down the aisle in the wrong order. The day was still awesome… and everyone had a blast.

10. You used the wrong glue
Those cute little lacey ribbon bits that you lovingly glued to 73 place cards have started to peel off at the edges. But you were going for the rustic look anyway, right?

5 THINGS NEVER TO SAY TO A BRIDE AND GROOM ON THEIR WEDDING DAY

11. Where everyone’s staying
You started off trying to organise 100 people into various hotels and B&Bs in the area, all with different requirements, before realising you were heading for a meltdown (oh, and you had a wedding to plan!). On the day, as long as they turn up, you won’t care if they have a £4k taxi home.

12. It wasn’t your dream venue
Not being able to afford the manor house down the road was a bit of a blow, but as you look around at your loved ones all together in one (albeit less grandiose) room, everything feels right with the world.
