We've put together the essential checklist when ordering or making your wedding stationery!

Save the date cards

These aren't essential, but they're a nice way to let people know about your wedding
Quantity: One per couple/family
When to send: As soon as you've confirmed your wedding date and drawn up your guestlist.

Day invitations

Send these to people who you want to ask to your whole wedding day, and remember to order a couple of spares in case of mistakes!
Quantity: One per couple/family
When to send: Six to three months before your wedding.

Evening invitations

Send evening invitations to guests who will be joining you after your wedding breakfast for the evening reception. Guests coming to the whole day don't need additional evening invitations.
Quantity: One per couple/family
When to send: Send these after all the RSVPs to your day invitations have been returned. If some day guests can't make it, you'll be able to upgrade some evening guests to the whole day.

Order of service

Whether you're having a religious or church ceremony, an order of service is a nice way to guide people through the ceremony. You can list readings, include hymn words, and even include your vows if you want!
Quantity: One per person or one per couple (no one will mind sharing, but some people like to keep them as mementos)
When to send: Orders of service are given out on the day by your ushers.

Invitation inserts

You need to send your guests directions, details of accommodation, transport and menu choices, and the easiest way to do it is by including an additional insert in your invitations.
Quantity: One per invite
When to send: With your invitations.

Gift list information

If you’re having an online gift list with John Lewis, House of Fraser, Debenhams or other retailer, cards will usually be provided to place in with your invitations.
Quantity: One per invite
When to send: Include details of your guestlist with your invites.

Table plans and names/numbers

You'll need one large plan with details of who is sitting where on each table so everyone can find their place, then individual names or numbers for each table.
Quantity: One table plan, and as many table names/numbers as you have tables.

Menus

Menus aren't essential, but can be a good idea to remind guests what they've ordered if a long time has passed since they sent their RSVP.
Quantity: One per table or one per person. Alternatively, you could have just one menu on display with the table plan.

Place settings

You'll need to put place names on your tables so guests know where to sit (unless you're happy for them to sit wherever they like). Why not combine them with favours by having personalised cookies or paper fans?
Quantity: one per person
