Getting your big day look sorted for an outdoor wedding can be tricky!
Stephanie Allin

Outdoor weddings throw up all sorts of style dilemmas! But with the amazing range of dresses available today, and A-list celebs like Florence Welch and Kate Moss setting the fashion trends, you'll find it easy to create a glamorous, practical look.

Short dresses are out in force on the 2012 runways, so choose knee-length, tea-length or ankle-length so yours won't get stained on the grass. Opt for unstructured styles and dress your hair with forehead bands or flowers, and your feet with flats so you don't sink in the mud!

Dress designer Stephanie Allin says: "Cotton and lace are perfect, and mixing fabrics is always fun – the more mismatched the better! Complement your look with hints of colour to match your festival theme!"

Style dos: lace and cotton, lightweight skirts, flowers.

Style don'ts: structured styles, too much sparkle, severe up-dos

Is festival chic for you?

Try it if: You love music, the outdoors and consider yourself a bit of a hippy at heart!

You'll love: Being cool, comfortable and feminine, and being able to dance the night away in your dress

You hate: Too much formality or tradition
