Styling your ushers

It's not just your wedding day look to think about – what will your ushers be wearing?
Moss

As well as choosing your suit for your wedding, you'll need to think about what you want your ushers and best man to wear on the day, and where you'll get their outfits from.

The look

Chat to your fiancée about the sort of look you both want for the groomsmen, and what will suit the venue and theme you've chosen for your day. If you're getting married somewhere traditional, having everyone in morning suits might be a nice option, or smart navy suits are great for a modern city wedding.

All the same?

Consider whether or not you want to look exactly the same as your groomsmen. Some grooms choose to wear a suit of a completely different colour, while some will choose a different shade of the same colour (eg if all your ushers are in dark grey suits, you could wear a light grey one). If you do all go for the same looks, think about details to distinguish you. Maybe you could wear a different colour shirt, or a different tie or buttonhole.

For hire

If you're planning to ask your groomsmen to hire their outfits, consider choosing a nationwide chain so they can all go to get fitted in different parts of the country. Try Moss for a great selection – they have everything from morning suits to contemporary suits and tuxedos.

Return leg

If you do hire suits, make sure one of your ushers is able to return them the day after the wedding. Give them full details of where they need to be returned to, and by when.
