It’s almost impossible not to fall in love with this Eckington manor. Hidden away in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside this gorgeous collection of rural buildings is the perfect mix of rustic romance and modern luxury.
The hotel offers 17 unique bedrooms and suites each with their own quirky features. In our incredible junior suite we had a beautiful free-standing roll top bath, log burner and instead of a TV, we had our very own projector so we could watch our favourite films cinema-style! We also took full-advantage of the well-stocked loyalty bar in the main manor, where you can pour your own pre or after dinner drinks to enjoy in the comfort of your room.
When it comes to dinner you’re in for a serious treat! Just across the courtyard in the contemporary, yet cosy restaurant, head chefs Sue and Mark Stinchcombe serve up a sensationally inventive menu using local produce – most of which comes from the onsite farm.
Does the name sound familiar? Well that might be because Mark was the winner of MasterChef: The Professionals 2015! You can even admire his trophy, which is proudly on display in reception. The menu changes depending on seasonality, but from the dishes we sampled favourites dishes had to be the venison with beetroot, blackberries and gnocchi, and a lighter-than-air clementine soufflé with insanely tasty brown bread ice cream.
We also explored the Barn and adjoining Apple Store, which are the perfect settings for an intimate wedding day, with light airy spaces and beautiful wooden beam details. After your vows you can pop out onto the terrace and gardens – perfect for champagne and canapés!
Accommodation at Eckington Manor starts from £129 including bed and (an incredible) breakfast.
