If you didn’t already think being engaged was pretty awesome, here are 10 more reasons why it’s gonna be one of the best times of your life!

1. You’ve found ‘the one’ – big yay! But that does mean that you now have to share that supersize tub of Ben and Jerry’s (not so yay…).

2. You’ll feel all grown up. You may have been with your partner for years, but being engaged just makes it feel a little bit more legit. Like, to death do us part and all that…

3. Now you can introduce your other half as your fiancé (and soon it will be husband – eep!).

4. The ring. Well, we had to mention it didn’t we? You won’t be able to stop flashing that sparkler... and yes, perhaps strangers on the bus would like to see too.

5. You’re now legitimately allowed to have a Pinterest board entitled ‘My Wedding’, just don’t tell anyone that you in fact started it 10 years ago!

6. You can spend all day reading amazing bridal magazines *ahem* and creating beautiful moodboards and no one can stop you!

7. You won’t be able to stop smiling. It’s basically a massive high only to be surpassed by the day itself. Awh!

8 THINGS ENGAGED COUPLES SHOULD NEVER SAY TO EACH OTHER

8. You have the pleasure of announcing it to the world (well, your Facebook friends first, obvs!). Plan something creative to really surprise your friends and family.

9. Lots of champagne will be drunk – you’re celebrating, right?!

10. It’s time to par-tay! Throwing a fun engagement party is a great way to start your wedding planning journey in style.
