We test the top salon spray tans!
Monsoon

St. Tropez

Tester: Catherine Davies, Digital Editor
Salon: Clifton Beauty Company, Bristol
Cost: £29.25

Process: "Therapist Lucy talked to me about the look I was hoping for, then sprayed me twice to give a natural-looking medium tan. It took a few minutes to dry, and developed overnight.
Verdict: "I'm very pale, but this tan was perfect for me. It‚'s seamless, subtle, and not at all orange – not even on the day after! I'm worried this could become a rather expensive habit!" 10/10

Xen-Tan

Tester: Esther Curtis, Deputy Art Editor
Salon: Beautology, Clifton, Bristol
Cost: £30

The process: "I asked to be quite natural so on goes the shower cap and paper thong, and I'm sprayed with a fine mist of Xen Tan (which smells of chocolate!) and then left to dry for ten minutes."
Verdict: "A great, natural looking tan! This is a good one for spray tan virgins as it's subtle and light. I'd recommend having it a day or two before your wedding as it didn't last a week."

Fake Bake

Tester: Holly Johnson, Deputy Editor
Salon: Fuss, Bristol
Cost: £19.99

The process: "I took off all my clothes apart from my knickers and stood in the booth while the therapist sprayed my face and body. The tan develops overnight – I was very dark until I showered!"
Verdict: "I tried the light/medium and was a deep golden brown. My hands were quite dark though – I'd recommend moisturising them all over beforehand and having the treatment around five days before the wedding."

Sienna-X

Tester: Alison Worthington, Publisher
Salon: Pamper Banana, Bristol
Cost: £25, or a course of 5 for £20 each.

The process: "After a consultation on skin type as well as the wedding as a whole, you change into disposal pants and hair net. Vaseline is applied to your nails and cuticles before you step into the booth."
Verdict: "The most comprehensive experience I've had, specifically tailored to my needs. The colour is natural and radiant. Recommended!
