Trying to "wow" the same guy twice.

Trying to "wow" the same guy twice.

Anyone good at dresses here? I don't normally wear the things! We are approaching our tenth wedding anniversary, and hoping to re-affirm our vows in a private ceremony, with a party at a later date. I want that man to be more blown away than he was the first time, but I don't know where to start. The first time, I didn't make much fuss about my dress, certain elements were required by church, the rest was just like, "Yes, that is pretty, and everyone will see a bride, job done, next?"

I don't look great in white, and floor length is a bit much for a sporty trousers girl like me, so I have been thinking of bridesmaids dresses, or those new champagne coloured brides dresses. Ok, I think I have said enough for any dress fans to chip in now, but if I haven't explained enough, do ask.

Such a lovely idea to renew your vows! Bridesmaid dresses are a really good option, and you can get lots of them in white or ivory these days too. Look at Coast's bridal range too – they've got some really lovely ones. I think I'd be tempted to pick a really glamorous '50s-style white shift dress, and team it with amazing heels, red lips and a really cute fascinator – your husband will love how glamorous you look! Have a look on Net a Porter for some ideas - they've got lots of glam things (although some are scarily expensive!).

You could go for a tea dress/prom-style dress too – a shorter length will look really different from your original wedding look, and is really fashionable at the moment!

Tell us what you decide on, and I'll post up links to anything nice I find online! x

Thank You Cath.

Fifties style was in my head, amongst other things, those full circle skirts look like you can actually move in them quite freely. Would fishnet tights be right for that era?

It is fun because we have ten years to celebrate, and none of the worries that are always there at a wedding for one reason or another.

I think I am going to take my time sorting my outfit out, I have got the time, and I so want to get it right.

I'm looking hard at this...

Not sure about my ample chest in it, but the appeal is that I could do a lot with it. It is so plain, accessories would really stand out. Just add it to the mix of possibles for now.

That BHS dress is lovely. When I read your first post, that's exactly the kind of thing I imagined.

Congratulations on your 10 Years, hope you have a wonderful day x
