Michael proposed to Beatrice after five years together, and Beatrice didn't have to think twice about where she wanted to hold her big day! "When I was younger I remember being a bridesmaid at Winchfield Church and thinking that it was where I wanted to get married one day!" she laughs.

"The church seemed like the perfect place to hold our ceremony, and we took our guests back to my parents' house for a marquee reception in their garden," Beatrice adds.

"We wanted an English garden party-style wedding with vintage china, bunting, and most importantly, picnic hampers!" Beatrice explains. "We set up the marquee with long trestle tables, and served our reception dinner from hampers packed full of fresh bread and delicious treats."

The couple didn't really have a set colour scheme in mind, aiming to create the feel of an eclectic country garden. "However, after choosing green bridesmaid dresses and decorating the tables with green napkins and ribbons, it became the main colour we used," says Beatrice.

"One of the key ways we brought out our theme was with our flowers, which were arranged by Diane de Landro," Beatrice adds.

"I had a vintage-look bouquet with roses, peonies and sweet Williams," says Beatrice. "It was pale cream with hints of pink, and the bridesmaids had a slight variation on this with brighter colours and their favourite flowers in each."

Lots of the couple's details were handmade, including the stationery and favours. "We named all the tables after Shakespeare plays and characters, while the place settings either had sweets or seeds in little bags as favours," explains Beatrice. "I enlisted some friends to help me put them together, and to make the paper pom-pom decorations we had!"

Rather than having a traditional wedding cake, the couple decided on a delicious cheese tower from Norbiton Fine Cheese.

Beatrice chose a beautiful lace Lusan Mandongus dress to complement her vintage garden party theme. "As soon as I put it on I knew it was perfect," she says. "I loved that it felt totally like 'me', but an elegant, sophisticated, timeless me!"
