"I'd never been the girl who dreamed of a traditional big white wedding, so when Pete and I got engaged in New York, I knew I wanted to do something different for our day!" says Jodie. One of the couple's key priorities was to have amazing food, and their venue, Hipping Hall in the Lake District, offered fabulous menus that really appealed to them both.

"One of the hardest things to decide on was flowers," says Jodie. "After some deliberation, Lisa at Venus Flowers helped me to create exactly what I was after – a 'messy' bouquet of pink peonies, daisies, sweet peas and craspedia, all tied together with a 40 year old brooch which was given to my grandma by my grandad."

One of Jodie's budget blowouts came in the shape of the gorgeous dresses she chose for her three bridesmaids. "My girls wore gorgeous Alice + Olivia dresses from Net-a-Porter – I really wanted to put them in something they'd feel fabulous in! They doubled up as their thank-you presents too, which made them seem a little less extravagant!"
