When Leona and Lee started planning their July wedding, one element proved to be a little more tricky than Leona had anticipated! "I certainly didn't expect to try on over a hundred different dresses before finding 'the one'!" she laughs. "I was starting to feel a bit deflated after seeing so many and was getting really confused about what I wanted."

"All that changed when I saw a picture of my Rosa Clara dress," she says. "I just had a feeling it would be perfect. It wasn't stocked anywhere near where I live, so I decided to make the 300 mile round-trip to Quello Bride in Kenilworth to try it on!"

The couple also had some drama with their photographer! "We'd already booked someone when we came across Sacha Miller but we fell in love with how he captured the feeling of weddings in his photos," explains Leona. "Even though it meant losing a hefty deposit, we cancelled our original choice – we were so glad we followed our hearts!"

Luckily, the rest of the wedding planning went a little more smoothly! "As soon as we set foot in our venue, the King Arthur Hotel in the Gower, south Wales, I knew it was the right choice," says Leona. "I loved the traditional wooden beams, Welsh slate floors and beautiful gardens, and the whole place had a light, airy feel about it."

Leona decided on a sophisticated colour scheme of nudes, blush pinks, ivory and peach. "I wanted the overall look to be glamorous and pretty without being too fussy, and I didn't want to be tied down to just one colour," she adds.

One of the most important elements of the day were the flowers. "I actually got a bit obsessed with flowers during my planning!" Leona laughs. "I knew I wanted lots and lots at our wedding, and I was lucky enough to find Eve Weatherley – an amazing florist. She totally got what I wanted. I had a bouquet of hydrangeas and roses in ivory, blush and peach, and the brides had similar, smaller posies." The couple also had beautiful arrangements in their reception venue, using cake stands to create glamorous tiered displays.

Leona and Lee also went to town with their stunning four-tier iced cake decorated with roses between each layer. "Each tier was a different flavour too – we had chocolate, lemon, Victoria sponge and a traditional layer of fruit cake – it was absolutely delicious!" says Leona.

We also love the pretty birdcages that decorated the tables – the couple filled them with candles to cast a warm glow across their reception room.

They also had a gorgeous sweet bar, piled high with retro-cool sweets!

Another great idea was the flip flop box, where female guests could exchange uncomfortable heels for a pair of flip flops so they could carry on dancing!
