Every bride wants her wedding morning to be stress-free, and one of her biggest worries will be beauty disasters. But what should you do if the worst happens and you hate your big day make-up?

10 QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR MAKE-UP ARTIST

Minimise the chances
It is so important to have a make-up and hair trial! They do usually have a cost attached, but they are so worth it. Trials give you a chance to do a test-run of your look and ensure you and your make-up artist are on the same page.

Bring along a board of Pinterest ideas, so your make-up artist knows what kind of style you’re going for and try out a few different looks so you can select a favourite. Don’t stop until you’re 100% happy and take photos of the finished looks as a reference for the big day.

Speak up
If on the day, things still go awry and you really don’t like something about your make-up you need to speak up. It’s the biggest day of your life and the photographs will live on for many years to come so you need to feel your best.

If the contouring is too heavy or your eyeshadow is too dark, ask your make-up artist to take another look at it. You need to feel like the best version of yourself – not a completely different person.

Get a second opinion
Sometimes it can be hard to take a step-back and look at your make-up objectively. Ask your bridesmaids to be completely honest with you and see what changes they would make – they may help you see it in a new light.

Do a bit of tweaking
Your make-up artist is a professional and she knows what looks good, but no-one knows your face quite like you do! Every single bride will do a few small tweaks after her make-up artist has left – if you think you need a bit more blush or your eyebrows need toning down a bit – go for it! Just make sure you have a few of your favourite tried and tested products on hand so you know what you’re working with.
